Third time lucky rebuild

One more time….

This time completely from scratch (second attempt was based on a clone of the first step of my first attempt!)

  1. Spin up lightsail – this time with a pinned DNS to make that easier.
  2. SSL via bncert – http://www.mcgurl.co.uk/2023/09/19/setting-up-an-aws-lightsail-instance-for-the-first-time/
  3. head to wp-admin and log in.
  4. Install woocommerce and activate
  5. set up the store – general, tax shipping zones
  6. Install payment plugins – and activate
  7. Install WP All Import and activate
  8. On the original site, export:
    • Customers
    • Products
    • Coupons
  9. Import:
    • Products
    • Coupons
    • Customers
  10. Install WebToffee’s Import Export plugin and the WooCommerce add-on
  11. On the exported order file I have to change the date format in the CSV to read mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm – it tries to import the American format regardless of settings, it seems
  12. Add and activate all of the plugins I need – Elementor and Elementor Pro last
  13. Install the Hello Fresh theme
  14. Choice the Ecommerce Template kit
  15. Go to the pages list and delete the original Woocommerce pages (Elementor change the settings to point to its own versions)
  16. Quick edit each of the woocommerce pages so that the slug (URL) doesn’t have -2 at the end
  17. TAKE A LIGHTSAIL SNAPSHOT – every thing’s looking good, and I’ve come so far I’d hate to lose it at this point!
  18. Import Elementor Templates from current live site.
  19. Import Theme Builder layouts and delete default ones after
  20. Rebuild pages on the site.
